Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADP) is an important coenzyme molecule, which is composed of two nucleotide molecules (ribonucleic acid and adenine acid) linked by glycosidic bonds. It is an important catalyst for many redox reactions in organisms and has various biological functions. As an electron acceptor, NADP can receive protons and electrons in many metabolic pathways and be reduced to NADPH, thereby promoting various biosynthetic reactions. NADPH plays an important role in biological processes such as lipid synthesis, hormone synthesis, and DNA repair. At the same time, NADPH is also involved in the reduction process of many oxidoreductases, protecting cells from oxidative stress damage. Studies have shown that the occurrence and development of many diseases are related to the generation and utilization of NADPH, such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and so on.
